Processing Your Information On Behalf of Our Customer

The People Graph app enables you to visualize your Excel data in a modern way.  In order to provide this service, the People Graph app processes information, such as which chart type is the most popular one in the App. The People Graph app is provided for use only by end users of Microsoft customers who are authorized users of Microsoft services.  The People Graph app processes your information on behalf of the applicable Microsoft customer, and we may disclose information processed by the App at the direction of the organization that provides you access to the services.  Except as indicated below, Microsoft does not use information you process via the App for any other purpose.

Additional Collection and Use of Your Information

The People Graph app may collect data about the use, connectivity, configuration, reliability, and performance of the People Graph app (e.g., how often it is opened, People Graph app functions used, errors encountered). Microsoft uses this data for purposes of providing the People Graph app and improving the quality, security, and integrity of this and other Microsoft apps, products, or services.  This information is not used to identify, contact, or target advertising to you.

Microsoft may share or disclose information described in this section with vendors or agents.  Specifically, we may share it with companies we’ve hired to provide services on our behalf.  When we share information with these other companies to provide services for us, they are not allowed to use it for any other purpose and must keep it confidential.  We also may share or disclose personal information: to comply with the law or respond to legal process or lawful requests, including from law enforcement and government agencies; to protect the rights or property of Microsoft or our customers, including enforcing the terms governing your use of the services; to act on a good faith belief that access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of Microsoft employees, customers or the public; or as part of a corporate transaction such as a merger or sale of assets.
